In the years following The Great Event the townsfolk had turned to museums and their arrangement, it being broadly agreed that the museums of the town and outlying areas did not fulfil the remit modern society now demanded. This new prerequisite of family life meant that every family in town kept a museum of their own making.
The first family I spoke to showed me around their display of 239 fictional human organs. Their opening hours were 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays they liked to repair exhibits and prepare new specimens. No photography was allowed, but there were postcards available in the hallway bookshop.
